It was Christmas morning, all the family gathered around the living room. When I say “all the family”, I mean all twenty of us. From Paul’s ninety-two year old grandmother, to our sweet nine month old niece. It was agreed by the family to let all the nieces and nephews open their presents first. Then it came time for my mother-in-law to open her present from Seattle and Abbey. As she opened her gift, her face beamed with pride, and she held up a photo of Abbey and Seattle announcing, “they were pregnant”. The entire room full of family members screamed with joy. It was an unforgettable moment that money, or presents could never buy.
That Christmas morning, revealed more than just a simple pregnancy announcement, but a family who’s been there through it all. In that same living room, life has happened, from tears of joy, to moments of pain and sadness. But as a family, we have been there for one another, sharing in the sorrows as well as the joys. Family can be such a beautiful picture of unconditional love. A gentle reminder, we are never alone in this life. And so dear baby Henry, we’ll be here for you too. We hope you know your family has your back and we’ll be cheering you on through this life.
